Marine Camera Solutions where engaged by FNOB to design, supply, install and manage the onboard media system to their yachts competing in the 2010/11 Barcelona World Race. We were also a key partner in the management and distribution of the onboard content. Working closely with the FNOB technology organisation, we developed a number of integrated systems during the 12-month program.
Working with the Race Organisation, MCS spent 11 months developing a bespoke turnkey solution for the competitors of the 2010/11 edition of this race. From designing the onboard media system to developing the media distribution infrastructure and managing its implementation, Marine Camera Solutions have been able to deliver a unique solution for the client.
We have also worked closely to deliver a satellite airtime management system ensuring sponsors expenditure is accurately managed whilst providing satellite airtime across the fleet.
In the run up to the start of the 2008 Vendée Globe, MCS was subcontracted to install and commission the Livewire Digital Ltd ‘store and forward’ software, M-Link Voyager, within their existing camera system.
During the race, Marine Camera Solutions has also been providing ongoing technical support to Bahrain Team Pindar.
During the development and build of Artemis Ocean Racing 2, MCS was integral in the supply and installation of both the onboard media system as well as all of the communication platforms.
The media system designed for AOR 2 was unique in allowing the skipper access and control of the camera system from both down below and on deck.
During the build MCS worked closely with the build team to ensure each aspect of the system was delivered and integrated seamlessly and on time.
Working alongside PRB’s existing supplier, MCS was asked to supply a carbon Pan Tilt and Zoom camera to the 2004 Vendée Globe winner, Vincent Riou. Along with supplying the camera unit, in the run up to the start, we were then also tasked with providing a separate control unit that could be integrated into the current system.
Having worked closely with many of the teams in the build up to the 2004 Volvo Ocean Race, Marine Camera Solutions worked closely with Livewire Digital Ltd in the installation of the HD media desk to the competitors of the 2008 edition.
