Extreme 40 iShares

Live video from Extreme 40 iShares - Almeria 2009

With the growing demand for live broadcast feeds and internet streaming content for inshore events, Marine Camera Solutions have been developing a remotely operated HD pan, tilt and zoom camera unit to be installed on yachts and dinghies racing on inshore waters.

The system was first tested during a race event in Almeria in November 2009 onboard Shrirley Roberstons Extreme 40, iShares and was a great success with both the event organisers and sailors, in proving the ability to bring the live onboard action ashore for sponsors and the public.

The camera operator can be located remotely and can operate the broadcast quality camera simply and easily whilst working with host broadcasters or event organisers.

Currently MCS are in discussions with a number of other inshore events about providing a similar solution to help ensure they too are at the cutting edge of TV production.
